We propose a contest a bit 'special, in which it participates in two: author and reader beta.
The theme of the contest? "The first to know" .



First thing: the contest you sign up as a couple, the author + beta.
What does this?
one simple thing: betaggio history is required.
Why?
No, we're not maniacs of grammar, nor do we want to force you to do something they usually do not fart. We prefer to offer you ... a new experience.
Not everyone has experienced the beta reading, both as a writer who submit their story to someone else before you publish it, and as a beta of another. Having tried both, we can say that at least for us it's fun and stimulating to be in both roles.
A beta may be just a first player that gives you a general impression, or a proofreader and editor, fierce hunter of typos and inconsistencies to the attention of all kinds. A beta is able to see where you can not, because you know too well the history and you lack the proper distance for noticing some defects, or certain strengths to be emphasized.
A beta reader is not "half" Lord of the story: the story of the author is 100%. But the support of the beta in some cases is capable of directing the story to the right path, or to awaken the imagination of the author got bogged down and discouraged. And, sometimes, thanks to an inspired discrete beta is transformed into something very, very nice.

We know that not everyone likes the shape of the beta, and many judges prefer to forbid them to participants in the contest. This contributed to some couples do not want to be a polemic against those who do not like the beta reading. It 'just that everyone has their own idea about it.
We would, however, pay homage to the infinite possibilities of beta reading, and we hope to offer some 'beta to honor those who are in the shadows, but maybe they gave their support to the implementation of good stories.

And the theme of the contest?

Well, inspired by his reading of the concept of beta, the theme that we propose is this: "The first to know" .

the first to know what? But what you want!
Whether it is the best friend to confide in the success or disaster for an appointment, the best friend that you announced that you want to ask the hand of the brother or sister that is used when we are in trouble, the special person that we have to tell a special discovery, or even the enemy to whom we owe something, unknown to us a favor done by the extraordinary consequences ...
Well, your story has to talk about something important and the first person to whom it is said that. Or not tell. Or you would have to say, but we did not, or we could not. It is said that the end of life is a good reason not to say something to someone ...

Write a story where there is a somebody, and then someone else a "special" to be the first to know something.

- The contest ends March 20th (yes, yes, we'll grant the usual extensions, if needed: we know the value of "more time"!)

- oneshot accepted, collected stories or chapters: the important is that the maximum length is always equivalent to around 20 pages in Word character 12 (this to allow us to proceed quickly, to the delight of all.)

- be good all the warnings, all kinds and all fandom + stories original. We only ask you to notify us in advance about the fandom you choose, if possible: so we have time and manner of information.

- When you enroll, you must state your name and the name of your beta (but it is fine even if the beta is to include both. In short, one of them will include the pair.)

- When you wrote the story , then publish it and link it Comment on this post.
So, in short, you need to publish before the results, and you should not send the story: as soon as you have written, please start the story in a sea of websites: we will read it, and at the end of the contest will give you the results.

- When you publish the results, we will not give ratings to stories, but to establish a ranking with a podium winners, special mentions any promise more detailed reviews that explain our view on every aspect of the story (form, style, texture, consistency, characters, originality, use of theme.) We also promise all possible objectivity, but obviously we will at least partly account for the subjectivity of our readers, faced with the stories.

- reviews will only and only the stories: do not judge the beta!

When you find your coworker you enroll officially ... or you might just find it in the list!
