The only bus that goes from Petra to Wadi Rum Party at 6 am .. that wonderful time! Especially since it seems that is not on time, on-site confirmed rumors say that time passes at a target between 6 and 6:30. Since our hotel is also a good quarter of an hour (do twenty minutes) walk from the center of Wadi Musa, where the bus goes, we go out around 5:20. We have not reserved a taxi, we decided that we just walked on foot and see if we are lucky enough to meet one on the street, or else patience. When at last we find one, we're almost at the top of the hill leading to the center (pant pant), but for a few Euros we take the same to avoid having to start looking for the bus station. A real
station then there is, what the guide calls with optimism as it is only a yard with two benches. There is not even the ticket, it seems that the ticket is made on the bus ... we hope!
There comes a bus and I almost want to see you ... that is accurate? Absolutely not, says the bus driver that goes to Amman. There seemed too good to be true ......
At that moment one approaches a car, the driver offers to take him to the Wadi Rum. Part fierce bargaining over the price and eventually managed to rip the same bus. I suspect that it went well because the type had to go to Aqaba on his own but on balance ... we care? The only thing that is really driving like crazy and then we come to Wadi Rum is not at 8, as scheduled, but at 7.15, with the visitor center still crossed! Pass the time eating something that we brought with us as breakfast and when we open the doors Aodeh call, our guide, information on the phone from the office and pay the park entrance of the Wadi Rum (2 JOD, less than 2 € , each). Aodeh appears to take a few minutes later it was called. It is surprising to see us: he rang the operators of the bus, but told him that he was late, so we explain that we have come this far by other means. When it came to book the guide to Wadi Rum, which I chose to do it from home, I sent the mail to several addresses guides suggested by our rough and I chose Aodeh (aodeh25@yahoo.com) because it was very quick to answer my mail and I brought in a clear and comprehensive a route that would go to meet our desires. We chose one of the most expensive routes on two days in Wadi Rum, seeing as we all wanted a jeep for us and we agreed to do the runway in the desert to Aqaba. All this has cost us 160 JOD (just under 150 €), including all (food and bottled water at will during the day) but every single penny has been earned.
We did everything we wanted for the day, with our time and as we went. We have always followed the advice of our guide when invited us to do the walking and we had a great time. In addition, the camp was very clean and well maintained, we have used our sleeping bags to sleep but provided them with everything and in excellent condition. The
after Petra Wadi Rum is probably the place I liked most of all Jordan. In some ways reminiscent of the American West .. for the deep red color, to be so different from the Sahara a few months earlier I had seen but equally beautiful.

For the rest, if you saw the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" with the legendary Peter O'Toole in 1962 my photos you will remember, because it was shot almost everything right in the Wadi Rum. It was the film that made him stand out as a tourist destination.
After a few 'hours of walking I must admit, you start to have sore buttocks since the jeeps are anything but soft! Little tip: as you carry your luggage with you, in our case was our standing in the back of the jeep, not the holiday for the Trolley ...
Ok, we just walked and just confess ... siesta moment!
At sunset we reach the camp for the night, we share with only two young Italian doctors who have already crossed a few times during the day.

Finally Luciano is happy as a clam when there are the delicious grilled chicken without adding any spice. If you ask he will tell you that certainly is the best dinner throughout the holiday! When it gets dark in the sky appear a surprising number of stars, is worth sleeping in the desert just for this incredible show ... We're really cooked, because we are standing at dawn, but we try to resist as much as possible before fall asleep.
