Left Abdomen Hurts When I Laugh

struck on his way to Damascus-day 15

The day begins with a short discussion at the hotel reception, the day before because we do not have the room and we want to ensure that today there the redo.
Today we closed the bar where we had breakfast the day before, so we have to find another place to eat our candy. Oh yes, because yesterday was the Muslim holiday and today is the Jewish holiday and then another slice of the city is closed ... this is Jerusalem!

Today we walk a lot and still cover the entire old part of Jerusalem. It is not very large and in two days you can visit almost anything.
Two things strike us all on this day. The first is the tomb of King David. It is a monument beautiful objects, but when we get to visit it is full of Jews devoted to their prayers. We are told that we must wait once they have finished with the prayers we can get. It 's the first time we see them a prayer and we really like, in some ways has reminded us of a mass gospel. All prayers are sung, and accompany the songs rhythmically beating with hands or feet on the ground. We sat outside and listened, was intense and beautiful. After the prayer, people started to leave, first to children who have rushed to play in the courtyard, while adults are very friendly they made us sign that we can now enter. The tomb can be visited while respecting the division between the sexes in it, very rigid: the two areas are divided by curtains so that Luciano and I end up visiting everyone on our behalf without not even see us. The monument itself is not anything memorable, we liked it so much more that which preceded it.

The other thing that affects us all is the walk around the walls of Jerusalem. The recommend a lot because even if there is to walk (the old walls surround almost the whole of Jerusalem except the part that goes behind the Dome of the Rock where you do not have access) you can see from Jerusalem and then from a completely different perspective is I admire the old town on this side of the wall that the new one on the other side

On the Muslim side ran into an unfortunate accident: while we are passing on the walls which surround the kids we are targeting with their toy guns and we shoot the shot, fortunately without consequences. The children of Jerusalem have impressed us a lot, playing only to the war and very violent. The only toys I have seen pass in their hands are weapons, obviously fake, but often loaded with plastic balls that you shoot at one another. A sadness that I tell you ... this is definitely not a pleasant impression at home that riportemo Jerusalem, with one regret: not having found a way to visit the Dome of the Rock. The armor around was complete, all access barred to visitors.
After the visit of the walls, it is now evening and our vacation is over. Back at the hotel, where we reserve the Nesher taxi for three in the morning. We will take before the New Gate, one of the entrance to the Old City, we expect a pretty good up early because we will have a ten minute walk to reach it.
For our last dinner of this beautiful holiday choose Amigo Emil, a short walk from our hotel. Again and for the last time Arab cuisine, I can only salute the Middle East, ordered the hummus, one of My favorite food!
